Wreck Warrior's Interceptor

Wreck Warrior has also made a model of the Interceptor from The Road Warrior. Here is what he had to say about it:

After building the Mad Max version I decided to build the Road Warrior Version too, so I bought the same kit I used for the MM1 car & copied most of the modifications: the dash, the hood, the roof spoiler, the fender scoops, the air scoop, and the taillights. I raised the rear suspension and started on the RW mods, I cut the hatch out of the car and made up two fuel tanks from PVC pipe and model hubcaps. To get the tanks to the correct height I added a trunk floor to the back of the frame and a divider frame to help keep them in place. Unlike the other car the supercharger is 'fake', the pulley is connected to a motor under the hood (as per the junkyard picture), the supercharger & zoomies are different & the dog seat is a cut down Nascar racing seat. At first I built it to look like it did in the opening chase because I couldn't find any square headlights, the front wheels and rear tires were incorrect, the car was a plain shiny black, and the junk in the interior was missing. It stayed like that for a long time until one day I decided to rebuild it, so putting my current projects aside I took the car apart and with some help from HUMVEE Driver and a few others I rebuilt the model to look more like it did in the movie. I added the shelf over the rear seat, an 'army blanket' covering it and a second one folded up under dog's seat. There is a fire extinguisher behind the driver, dog's bowl under the dash, the bucket hanging from the rollbar, and an MFP radio in the trunk (can't see it.) I tried to add other things but they kept messing up somehow, so I had to leave them out, some of them were a crowbar, siphon hose, jerry can, large carboard box, and a chain. The driver's side of the broken nose is pieced back together from two Mustang noses and some thin flat plastic. I made two panels to mount the headlights to the radiator support and a filler panel to cover a gap between the passenger light and fender. The headlights are from the AMT Dodge d-50 kit and the pushbar is scratch-built from model tree. Once I had the other stuff finished, I took the tires and body back off and painted dirt on the rims, tires, fuel tanks, and body; there's a lot more dirt on it than I'd like but it think it turned out ok.

Wreck Warrior has rebuilt his Road Warrior Interceptor; weathering the car up as we saw in the movie. The new pics are at the bottom.
