HUMVEE Driver's Black Holden

Before you begin, PRINT OFF AS MANY PICTURES AS YOU CAN of the vehicle from websites, watch the movie, and make sketches. I also recommend getting a Dremel Tool; mine is indispensable.

Black Holden

Base Kit: Joker Goon car/Gotham Police car (from the first Batman movie)

Other Kits: Dukes of Hazzard Daisy’s Jeep (This kit comes with many good parts for other Mad Max models, such as Interceptor rims, 5 gallon gas cans, and tires)

Extra Parts: Blue police bubble light, extra round headlights, 1/8" tube (.125 dia) wire mesh or screen, engine detail parts

Modifications: My first shot at the black Holden turned out ok, but I did not have very many pictures to work with so it was very inaccurate. The paint was all wrong, and so were many details. So I started over. I choose the Joker Goon car/Gotham Police car because it was a four door model, and so it the Holden. (Model kit companies almost never make four door models; preferring the sportier two door versions) I made the kit as it came out of the box, except for omitting the rear window and engine. Then I removed the front grill, front body panels, and the doors. I found a supercharged engine in my parts box and used the exhaust pipes from a Funny Car kit. I had to custom make the supercharger hat. I made sure to give the engine every detail (such as spark plug wires, hoses, and the battery) because it is so visible. Then I added the front grill and bumper from the Daisy's Jeep kit. I shaped plastic tubing around the side of the car and added the wire mesh. Then I closely watched the movie to see exactly where the various lights and siren were placed. The police bubble light should be blue, but I only had a red one. The figure is from the M.A.S.K. toy line, and its head is from the Monsters In Motion Interceptor (they give you two heads, a Max head and an MFP head)

Paint: The car is painted entirely black, except for the side tubing and wire mesh; which are tan.

Any questions, please ask! Good luck and let’s see some pics!
